Who Does the Work
We work on garage doors, not much else, and mostly on the doors that came with houses built in this part of Adams and Weld County between 1958 and 2010, with most of that stock going up through the 1980s and 90s. That matters more than it sounds like it should. A door and opener installed in 1988 uses different spring wind, different hinge spacing, and often a different track profile than something put in during a 2005 build. We've learned to look at a house and have a decent idea what's inside the garage before we open it up.
This is a cold-climate service area, and that shapes the work too. Torsion springs lose tension differently when they cycle through hard freezes for months at a time, and openers with older gear sets bind up when grease thickens below freezing. We service both the mechanical side - springs, cables, rollers, tracks - and the electrical side, openers and safety sensors, on doors from that whole build range.
We don't do custom architectural door fabrication or full carriage-house builds from scratch. If that's what you're after, you'll want a door dealer that specializes in it. We fix and replace standard residential doors and the hardware that runs them.
Where We Work
We're based in Brighton, off E 152nd Ave, and we run calls out from there across the surrounding area. That covers Todd Creek about 4 miles out, Reunion 5 miles to the south, and Lochbuie roughly 5 miles away. We also get out to Fort Lupton (8 miles), Aristocrat Ranchettes and Dacono (both around 10 miles), and Northglenn and Derby around 11 miles.
Farther out, we cover Welby (13 miles), Federal Heights, Frederick, Hudson, Erie, and Sherrelwood, all around 14 miles from our base. Beyond that we reach North Washington and Twin Lakes (15 miles), Firestone and Lafayette (16 miles), Berkley (17 miles), Platteville and Keenesburg (18 miles), Louisville (18 miles), and out to Superior and Glendale at 20 miles.
That's a wide service area, and it spans a lot of housing stock - the newer builds out toward Erie and Firestone look nothing like the older ranch-style homes closer to Brighton's core. We don't treat every call the same because of that. A truck heading to Todd Creek is usually carrying different parts than one headed toward the older sections near town.
What We Actually Do
Torsion and extension spring replacement is a big share of our calls, especially once cold weather sets in and older springs that were already fatigued finally give out. We also handle broken cables, worn rollers, bent or off-track sections, and openers that have stopped communicating with wall switches or remotes.
On houses at the older end of the local stock, we replace hardware that's simply worn past adjusting - torsion bars, end bearing plates, and center supports. On newer builds we're more often chasing opener logic boards, sensor alignment, or belt-drive wear.
One honest limitation: if a door is old enough that the panel material is discontinued or badly rusted through, and the frame or track has gone with it, we'll usually tell you replacement makes more sense than a repair bill that keeps growing. We'd rather say that upfront than patch something that fails again in a month. We also don't stock every part on the truck - a less common opener model or an odd-width panel can mean a return trip once we've ordered it in.
