Lafayette sits about 16 miles from our Brighton shop, and most of the calls we get from this side of town trace back to one thing: the houses here were mostly built around 1993, a good deal newer than the older pockets closer to Brighton itself. That means fewer of the original one-piece doors and a lot more sectional steel doors on extension or torsion springs from the early 90s builder-grade wave. The jobs we see most: torsion springs that have hit the end of their cycle count, openers from that era with worn drive gears or dead logic boards, and rollers that have gone from nylon to metal-on-metal after 30 years without grease.
